The Cook Out was a success
Today was a great day for a Cook Out. The weather was beautiful, and it was great sharing our lunch time with our students and families.  Our Superintendent, Dr. Flores and our Chief of Schools and Innovation, Dr. Presley joined us as well.  I love sharing our campus and showing off our awesome Comets.  Thank you to our volunteers and our Cafeteria Manager, Kathy Gillligan; we couldn’t have pulled this event off without you!

Character Counts at Canyon Creek
November 3rd is the first "school day" of the month and time to change our character word for the month! Our character word for November is GENEROSITY!!  We celebrate Thanksgiving in November and the last half of that word is GIVING.  Being generous or "giving" means that you give your time, your kindness, or your possessions to other people without expecting anything in return.  You do it because you enjoy giving to others. In November, when teachers see students being generous, they will be given a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that they demonstrated our Character Word of the Month!

TAG Information Night
Our TAG Information Night will be on Thursday, November 13th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Library.  Parents who are interested in referring their child for testing are encouraged to attend this informational meeting.  The referral window opens on Monday, November 17th.  The paperwork will be available on the RRISD Gifted and Advanced Academic Services website on November 17th.  The window for referrals closes on December 9th
